If you want I will build it on it’s own site Is there any other car hauler out there that feel the same that Zuckerman has been very ineffective as a negeotiator for our craft and since he has been director all we have heard from him is consessions and the line of “this is the best we could do”. I for one feel that its time for Mr Hoffa to take a stand and and put Fred back behind a steering wheel where he belongs and appoint a strong negeotiator for our craft. Any more give backs and we will be done, if this contract goes through, combined with the last 5 year deal our wages at the end of a 8 year period will have only climbed $1.70 per hour thats $.2125 an hour per year for 8 years. But not for all, Allied has a give back of 17.5% for a 36 month period with a freeze for that period, this is unacceptatable at best. But hey Fred you have been able to get some sweet heart deals for your Local. Fred you need to man up and just step down with some dignaty and let someone else do the job.
Just a little history;
June 1st 2003 5 year contract pay freeze year 1 June 1st 2004 year 2 of contract pay freeze June 1st 2005 year 3 of contract $.40 pay raise during this contract year Allied has a 2 month 10% pay cut June 1st 2006 year 4 of contract $.40 pay raise on May 30 Allied employees take a pay freeze plus 15% pay cut for 36 months June 1st 2007 year 5 of contract $.50 pay raise except for Allied which stays at June 1st 2006 scale less 15% If this new contract is accepted June 1st 2008 year 1 of 3 pay freeze Allied still at June 1st 2006 scale less 15% June 1st 2009 year 2 of 3 pay freeze Allied still at June 1st 2006 scale less 15% June 1st 2010 year 3 of 3 pay raise $.50 and Allied is to be put to full scale plus first year of COLA raise. looking at this with the Art 22 New Bussiness 1/2 rate running mile pay and Art 48 being kept out for 5 legs on a trip. It sure does’nt sound like he is working for us. This poll ends on the 7th Contract Poll, FIRST PREVIEW POLL ends on the 7th

Employers Deny Job Rights to PTS TeamstersPosted by: Chainsdraging in Carhaul News, Contract, PTS, TDU, Teamsters, tags: m, topJune 17, 2008: TDU NEWS, READ THE REST UPDATE
ORIGINALLY Published on:
June 17, 2008 at 6:50 pm moved due to popularity
In the wake of PTS’s closure, carhaul employers are trying to violate the national contract and deny the right of PTS Teamsters to follow their work. This attack on our contract, our solidarity, and on Teamsters who struck when they were called out by the International Union cannot be tolerated. All these Teamsters ask is that Article 5 of the contract be honored by Jack Cooper, Allied, Cassens and Active Transportation. At the national grievance hearing today, the employers refused to abide by the contract, and deadlocked initial cases, including Kentucky Local 651 vs. Cassens, and Dallas Local 745 vs. Jack Cooper. Those hearings will continue tomorrow, but the initial cases show that a stronger stand will be needed to protect our jobs and seniority rights. TDU - Teamsters for a Democratic Union
July 1, 2008:Tomorrow union officials will meet in Detroit to discuss the details of the national carhaul contract. Carhaulers have been calling and emailing Teamsters for a Democratic Union with their opinions and concerns on the new contract. Here’s what one brother had to say: “In my view, if Article 48 is amended in such a way that we lose……………………. American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings Inc. has paid CEO Richard E. Dauch an $8.5 million cash bonus for his “leadership role” through an acrimonious three-month union strike that ended with a concessionary contract that slashed factory wages. American Axle, whose stock has fallen nearly 55 percent in 2008, disclosed the cash bonus, a 10 percent base pay increase for Dauch and additional stock… [REG] 12:01 am U.S. ET | June 30 You wonder why you will soon be paying 7 dollars a gallon and nobody is buying cars. Here it is straight from one of your Democrat leaders. The disproved Global Warming Theory
When PTS lost the Toyota work you drivers were not on strike and PTS was still doing business. Under the free trade zone agreement that the imports have with our government we can’t strike or others will haul away the work. LOOK IT UP! Therefore you should not dove tail into those locations. Under article five you guys who lost the other work because PTS was not doing business you should of been able to dove tail into those terminals. Many of us know that the Union has sold us all out for what ever reason, but we must stand up and take our Union back at all cost. The system is not perfect, but I understand what you guys are going through. The key is to protect what little we have left and fight for our carriers. The last thing we need is to fight among-st each other, and loose sight of our futures. These companies and our Union have a simple point of view, and that is to conquer is to divide. If we are divided, they win. That is the oldest war propaganda in the book! Like in battle you must have heart and work together to win. What are we wining you might ask? We are in fight with big business and politics, that is consuming us all. These are life changing issues that are being brought upon us on purpose, so we loose sight of the contract that is being shoved up our asses. Dove tail and end tail wont mean crap if they eliminate article 48, and start a two teer wage for new hires. If the contract flies it won’t matter and we loose the way of life we all share, and our families suffer the consequences of our mistakes. Lets come up with ways to take back our Union, and our way of life. I’m willing to sacrifice everything I know and love for a good fight, are you? In these times of uncertainty and financial dismay, (sounds like Zuckerman) we should walk out of our locals. This should take place when they try to sell the new proposed contract to us. We need to say a few words and leave them hanging. This will send a clear message on what we will do, and our ready to do. WALK OUT!! AS POSTED ON TDU - Teamsters for a Democratic UnionJune 27, 2008: The effects of the struggling economy on the trucking industry have hit JHT Holdings Inc., a holding company specializing in the transportation of heavy- and medium-duty trucks. The Kenosha, WI-based company and its 16 subsidiaries filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Tuesday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. The filing was voluntary and pre-negotiated with many of its lenders, the company said. Chapter 11 filings allow a company to reorganize financially while seeking relief from creditors. Carhaul: What You Don’t Know May Hurt YouPosted by: Chainsdraging in Carhaul News, Contract, TDU, union, tags: Carhaul, Contract, Fred, PTS, TDU, top, Zuckerman

TDU - Teamsters for a Democratic Union June 27, 2008: The International Union is being even more secretive than usual about what is in the proposed tentative carhaul contract. As reports of concessions leak out, members are ready to demand some answers. We know that it’s a three-year deal, which very likely means that Allied Teamsters would get stuck with an extra year of wage cuts: their concession deal expires in two years, but has no “snap back” clause to automatically bring them back to union scale. A two-year contract would put all carhaulers back on the same page. Click to continue reading “Carhaul: What You Don’t Know May Hurt You” I want to say that you guys are true men among-st want to be Teamsters. You guys did what Allied should of done months ago. The only obstacle in your way was the Union and their pre-planned deal. The Union took your signs away and negotiated your freight away, because they knew Toyota would cancel your contract. The free-trade agreement with the imports was the issue. Toyota told them way in advance, and that is our Ace if we turn this contract down. They wont allow a strike, and will give us a good contract. It’s a gamble that I could live with, and walk with my head up. This contract is the the deal breaker for our wonderful union leaders. I have said it in the past in all my post, that this was in the works.The cost of living is sky high, not including gas prices and expenses that we all have to maintain our families. These rich punks that run our Union are selling us out, if they are proposing a half rate pay cut. The running mile will do just that, and you will never see our current rate, and the poor Allied guys will get another pay cut on top of the the most recent cut. The PTS freight has been divided by the big boys on the block, and they are going to make more money than ever. They know July is the dog days of the the car hauler, so what a good time to propose a contract and give a BS bonus to help ratify it. The guys on the bottom of all the boards, who are currently lay-ed-off are the missing link, because they are in need of some serious cash. If that is the case, then those drivers will be paid to give up there jobs forever. Don’t forget the Article 48 issue, that is attached to this BS contract. You will never be called back to work, because they got other terminals covering your freight. Do you all know that it cost the companies $2000 to maintain your benefits and pensions a month. Ten guys lay-ed off at one terminal is $20,000 a month they save. That is just one terminal, imagine 100 men lay-ed off, that equals $200,000 in a month. This is it and you better know, that they will do what ever it takes to limit the work force. Article 48 will save them a ton of money, so VOTE: NO WAY HOFFA

GM, Ford, Chrysler Credit Ratings May Be Cut by S&P (Update3)Posted by: Chainsdraging in Auto Manufactures, Carhaul News, Chrysler, Ford, General MotorsBy Caroline Salas June 20 (Bloomberg) — General Motors Corp., Ford Motor Co. and Chrysler LLC credit ratings may be lowered by Standard & Poor’s as higher gas prices inflict “financial damage” on the auto industry. S&P placed the carmakers’ credit ratings, already five levels below investment grade, on CreditWatch negative, according to a statement today. New York-based S&P, a unit of McGraw-Hill Cos., said it may also downgrade their financing arms. While the carmakers will be able to pay their debts this year, their cash may shrink to “undesirable levels” by the end of 2009, S&P said.
