It would be nice to see some others post so we could have a wide range of views to be debated and maybe it could help inform all of us as to whats happening arround the differant systems. And by to means do we all need to agree but at least we can educate each other on our own views of issues. Thanks and happy posting

Because i am on vacation this week I have spend several hours reading the postings on this site. Obviously most posters are malcontents that need a forum to spew their anti-company and anti-IBT complaints. What I find most interesting on the site is the advertisment links for strike breaker companies, scab nonunion labor, nonunion autotransport companies, and businesses looking to put Teamster represented carhaulers out of business.
I have asked around and was told that the guy who runs this site is a Tampa driver for Allied. Referred to as a “real radical” with lots of complaints and no answers (not my reference). I wonder why so many Teamster carhaulers frequent this site? This will be my last posting on here. I will not support a site that is undermining my industry.

How are you doing LifetimeTeamster.
It is I, the Radical as you say, Chainsdraging
Clicking on top of this page on “ABOUT” Tab will show you who is really running this site, Yup it’s me the Radical Chainsdraging.
So what is The Carhauler About? Let me try to explain.
What this is is simply a forum for all concerns of carhaul. There are many opinions here. I try to post All Sides of the Argument and Even Invite Hateful fools such as yourself to Share your Opinions. As a Matter of fact, I will grant anyone the Privilege to POST on the Cahauler if they have the Balls to do so.
Hoffa You out there? Zuckerman? Any CEO’S out there? Just step up, here is your chance to get your word out.
As for the ADS you see here, which are Google Ads as anyone can see, I have no control whats so ever on the content of those ADS as anyone who has worked with the ADS knows
That about sums up my Radical Hate Speech for today. Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
Thanks,
Chainsdraging
Note to self:
Call the terminal Manager in Tampa, ask him not to
refer to me as Radical with all his friends that call.

LOL, PRICELESS YOU RADICAL FREAK CHAINS
July 16th, 2008 at 10:46 pm
Life Time, I see that you must work for the IBT or maybe a soldier for one of the CEO’s. The only negative thing that is discussed here regarding the IBT is Hoffa and Suckerman. They are destroying the trade you spent a Lifetime working, as a member of the Teamsters. Any person who defends these clowns thinks like they do! Have you read the tentative agreement? Do you understand it? You must have a year or two left to retire! Thats why you don’t see anything wrong with it and will vote it in. Typical coward! Help leave the industry that put your kids through college and paid off your home, to the wolves. There are very few good men in car hauling these days! You wont think like that when your pension stops, because Hoffa and company bankrupts the Teamsters. If they can make changes like this to 40 years of language and lie like they have been, then what do you think they will do to the fund? As far as this sight, it’s a way to get information on whats really going on, and then you make an opinion on what you read. Later Old Timer!!!!!

Im sick and tired of fellow teamsters blaming the PTS drivers for the company closing its doors. The union was given the autorization to strike. They could have went back to the table at some point, before putting us on the usless picket line. They choose to put pts out off business, but save Allied by agreeing to pay cuts.Union carriers went into pts locations, before the pickets were down.Since a non-union carrier is at my yard.Whats the IBT going to do to get a union carrier here? Now with the joke of a contract. I will be forced to take a pay cut if i can get a job for another union company.Wasnt pts put on strike ,because of a pay cut?

PTS AND ALLIED WERE BOTH CONTROLLED BY YUCAIPA, WHEN THEY HAD THE AUCTION TO SELL PTS, YUCAIPA HAD SO MANY HOOPS TO GO THROUGH FOR A BUYER TO BE QUALIFIED NOBODY QUALIFIED IS WHAT I HEARD, THEY HAD BIDS, ONE OF THEM I UNDERSTAND WAS BLACK DIAMOND, BUT ALLIED WOULD FARE BETTER IF PTS WENT UNDER, AND SINCE ALLIED CONTROLLED BOTH OF THEM, THE UNION AND YUCAIPA HAS HAD A PRETTY COZY RELATIONSHIP THIS PAST COUPLE OF YEARS, SO WHY DO YOU THINK THEY WENT ON STRIKE, THEN OUT OF BUSINESS, BECAUSE THAT’S WHAT YUCAIPA WANTED, WHERE I WORK OUT OF ,THE HALL SENT ALL THE PTS STRIKERS TO FILL OUT APPLICATIONS, WHILE THERE TRUCKS WERE OVER HAULING LOADS OUT OF THE LOT, PRETTY SLICK, SAD PART IS I’M HEARING THAT ACCURATE IS HIRING DRIVERS FOR MESQUITE,ALSO ABOUT 5 OTHER PLACES, I THINK DEARBORN, SOMEWHERE IN NEW YORK, AND SOMEWHERE IN MA. SO IN THE END THAT BUSINESS WILL BE LOST TO SCABS, BUT WE CAN’T WORK FOR THE WAGES IN THIS CONTRACT WE WILL BE GOING BACK YEARS THAT WE WILL NEVER RECOVER, I’VE ALREADY SENT MY NO BALLOT IN.

The Carhaul ballots are to be picked up and counted on Aug. 12th. Two of us from our Local will be observers at the ballot count. There are reports of ballots having been received by those who should not be voting, such as retired, resigned, discharged, or even dead. We need the names and locals of each of these types that members have solid first hand information about. Any ideas or suggestions to insure that the members get a fair and honest ballot count would be greatly appreciated.
Most members I have spoke with are fully aware of what is at stake, and are voting “NO”. Times may be difficult for several reasons, but giving in or giving up all the proposals contained in the package our “Leaders” have tried to sell to us, won’t make times any better for rank and file members! How many solid proposals submitted by the members to our “Leaders” have been advanced into proposed language changes?
Effective Leaders find a way, others find excuses. That is all we have heard since the first membership survey went out, and in every Carhaul Update since……excuses….. excuses! While our Leaders are selling us a poor bag of goods, the employers are already planning their next move, should this can of worms is voted down. We need to be sure the members “NO” is heard loud and clear. Any changes made to our NMATA contract must be substantive and of “mutual” benefit. Many needed changes are LONG overdue such as, legal trip routing for every load. Corrective adjustments made when company is notified that a given route is shorted due to truck or weight restrictions. Simplify much of the ambiguous or confusing language. An agreed dictionary for the terminology and terms. Require that ALL panel and arbitration cases and decisions contain clear details as to why and how the matter was presented, argued and decided, then posting the results on line with a content “search” feature. Since this won’t be done by our leaders, it must get done by the members…..get involved, get informed and get organized and focused and get busy! I can honestly say that no organization can help do this better than TDU! Your voice, your vote, your future!
PS…. vote “NO”!

I HAVE READ THE INFORMATION SET OUT BY TDU ON A REGULAR BASIS. FROM WHAT I SEE, THE TDU SEES ALL THAT IS WRONG WITH THE TEAMSTERS BUT HAS VERY FEW CONCRETE SOLUTIONS TO STRAIGHTEN OUT THE PROBLEMS. ITS MIGHT BE GOOD THE TDU IS AROUND BUT WE ARE ONLY AS STRONG AS OUR WEAKEST MEMBER. AS FOR LIFELONG, ANOTHER COMPANY IS ALWAYS RIGHT EMPLOYEE. I’M SURE WHEN CHAINS BRINGS UP PROBLEMS TO MANAGEMENT,HE IS NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT BENEFITS. ALL THE DRIVERS AT HIS TERMINAL BENEFIT. WHY IS IT THAT ANYONE THAT STANDS UP FOR THEIR CONTRACTUAL RIGHTS IS LABELED A “RADICAL, TROUBLEMAKER, SHIT STIRRER, AND SO ON? WE STAND UP FOR OUR RIGHTS UNDER THE CONTRACT. WE ARE NOT “GETTING AWAY WITH ANYTHING”. THE COMPANY ALSO PLEDGED TO ABIDE BY THE CONTRACT AS IT IS WRITTEN. EVERYTHING IN THAT CONTRACT HAS BEEN NEGOTATED. THE COMPANY LABELS DRIVERS LIKE US AS TROUBLEMAKERS AND THE DRIVERS BELIEVE IT. BUT, WHEN THEY BREAK THE WORK RULES ITS O.K. THEY ARE THE COMPANY. THE COMPANY IS ALWAYS RIGHT. ITS TOO BAD THE UNIONS CANT CHOOSE THEIR MEMBERS. LIKEWISE, LIFELONG, I AM ALSO A SHIT STIRER AT MY TERMINAL. I TRY NOT TO LET THE COMPANY GET AWAY WITH ANYTHING!!! MANAGEMENT SUCKS!!! THIRTY YEAR OLD TIRED IDEAS. YOU SHOULD BE THANKFUL THAT THERE ARE MEMBERS LIKE US IN THE BROTHERHOOD. WE WORK FOR THE BETTERMENT OF ALL. SOUNDS LIKE YOU ARE A DRIVER WHO WOULDN’T SAY SHIT IF YOU HAD A MOUTHFUL. YOU WILL BE BACK ON THIS SITE. HIDE BEHIND YOUR COMPUTER SCREEN. YOU THROW SHIT AGAINST THE WALL TO SEE WHAT STICKS. PLEASE,LEAD ,FOLLOW, OR GET OUT OF THE WAY. LET MEMBERS LIKE CHAINS AND I DO WHAT WE HAVE TO DO TO MAKE ALL OUR JOBS BETTER!!! BROTHERS AND SISTERS, THE VOTE IS STILL N00000!!!

You know JMN Logistics has the Chyrsler contract in San Antonio, TX. If you know any drivers, inform them about the Union, we need some strong unity in this industry.

Hello to all . new to the site, and having done a lot of reading with regards to the postings. I can start with only comment, if anyone can defend the actions of the current international leadership and national negotiators. Get up off your knees and look above the funk your in. Because let me tell you, when those boys get done with the cash n carry sale of the union carhaul industry to ron burkle, they will leave your ass in ashes. Oh I forgot one thing, We are carhalers, we dont need anybody in a suit telling us what to think we are smart enough to do that ourselves!
August 13th, 2008 at 1:42 am
To start off pts drivers did not get themselves into this. They were innocent pawns in the ” Hoffa-Birkle what i want for Christmas contract negotiations. PTS was targeted for a strike to put them into bankruptcy because the federal bankrputcy court would not allow yuciapa and Illied , aka Ron Birkle buy them out for pennies on the dollar after being out of bankruptcy a short time. Secondly, it must be an overwhelming feeling to have to lay down and cowtow to company instead of fighting for what is owed to you. Thirdly, this is my union and your unoin, dont ever embarrass it or yourself by badmouthing it. This unoin and it’s principles for which it was formed will never let you down. Only people within it can fail you.
