Memo: To The Soon To Retire!

Saturday, September 20th, 2008

Mismanagement of Central States Fund will make you work into you are the ripe age of 80. The leadership of our Union has failed us again. 3 billion in losses is the tip of the iceberg! What this means to you and your family is more than just a few years left to retire. Who will send you the that pension check? This is why it’s so important to take this contract seriously, because it starts with the fund and ends with contract that is suitable for us all. The Teamsters are at the verge of Bankruptcy if this fund doesn’t do better in the free market. Three billion dollars is a lot of cash to gamble in the times we live in. They might be waiting to see if the government will bail them out too. This is very concerning and the $109 a week per man will not salvage this debacle. They will need thousand of drivers to be hired and fired and never meet the five year vested period, to maintain the fund. Not only in our industry, but in freight too. Read some of the language in that grand freight contact, those poor guys got. Hoffa came out of his XXL boxers when that was ratified! Ask them guys about the best contract ever. How can that happen you may ask? Let this new contract be anything like the last, and we will all be doomed. Read the language of the last contract and match it with the new one, and base your decision on what would you do if you had a 3 billion dollar deficit on your watch.

Hansen & Adkins Needs UR HELP!

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

carhauler autotransporter

Hansen and Adkins drivers want Union cards now and the IBT will not help. For the past few months these drivers have been trying to get someone from the IBT to meet with them. It is estimated that they have a 90% yes vote to become Teamsters. The problem is that Zuckerman wont return their calls. They have called Ronnie Green, Fuzzy, and Zuckerman, but no call backs. One person at the IBT said that they were very busy with contract negotiations. I know of several influential people who have called and no response. Hansen has around 400+ drivers and they are sick of all the abuses they are going through and want a contract. So why would the IBT look the other way? Hmm! They want car hauling to go away, and that is a fact. They have tried to organize one company in car hauling in the last few years. That company was Blue Thunder and it was a waste of time and money, because the driver turn around was high and the company was broke. Get the word out, make calls to the IBT, so we can be 400 drivers stronger. First Hansen, then URS and Wagoneers! Then we would be what we once were! Thats what is lacking and the root to our problems. If we had the power to shut this country down, the IBT would give us, UPS like contracts.
