bidders around the world.
VANCOUVER, Aug. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers
(NYSE and TSX: RBA), the world’s largest truck and industrial equipment
auctioneer, announced today that it will be selling approximately 1,000
specialized car carriers on behalf of the Trustee for Performance
Transportation Services, Inc. (PTS), as well as approximately 350 truck
tractors, 700 trailers and 140 forklifts on behalf of the Trustee for Alvan
Motor Freight, Inc. (Alvan) in two separate complete dispersal, unreserved,
public auctions. Ritchie Bros. will also be selling various shop tools,
equipment, office furniture and other assets for both companies.
Both PTS and Alvan are currently subject to proceedings under Chapter 7
of the United States Bankruptcy Code and all remaining assets are being
sold free and clear of liens and encumbrances. PTS was the second-largest
transporter of new automobiles, sport utility vehicles and light trucks in
North America, and was based in Allen Park, Michigan. Alvan was a
family-owned Midwestern regional LTL motor carrier based in Kalamazoo,
Michigan. Both companies have a long history in business, with Alvan
ceasing operations after 67 years of service. This is a unique opportunity

Maybe Cooper will buy some of the better equipment. But most of it is junk. They never took really good care of it and if they do buy some of it its going to be in the shop for awhile. Coooper needs equipment we have guys waiting for trucks, that wont get hired because lack of equipment, and Ford is on their ass about not moving units.

Instead of taking bids on who wants to buy the equipment. They should be taking bids on who wants to junk it. Most of the trucks are over 10 yrs, old. The same goes for the office furniture.

10/4 On that brothers, the junk should be scraped. I do miss my piece of shit though. I never thought I would here myself say that but I do. I haven’t worked since 6/13/08 and I am really enjoying the summer off. I will be getting called back to work soon, and I guess I will give it a shot. Anyway, good riddance to the tiel green and rust covered junk. R.I.P.

LOAD AND PARK CHARLIE…….Yea the truck broke down so much. It was like taking care of a sick relative… I,ve been off work since June my self. Going back to work for Allied. From one sinking ship to the next…

Cassens is hiring us back in small groups as they get equipment for us.
I know what you mean about sinking ships though. If we can’t get together on a new contract, we will all be working on a sinking ship.
No concessions, no givebacks, two year current contract extention. and try it again in 2010.
