Carhaul Steward Calls for End to Lies
TDU - Teamsters for a Democratic Union
Original Article
July 25, 2008: Carhaulers across the USA are speaking out against the concessionary national contract that is being voted on right now.
Many are angry about the outright lies being told on the Teamster website about members’ sentiments.
You can read a letter from a concerned steward in Kansas City Local 41, who calls on president Hoffa to pull the plug on the lies and on those who abuse members. Click here to read the letter.
The International Union has even screwed up the ballot mailing, although most locals provided them with a clean list of carhaulers entitled to vote. The deadline for ballots has been extended to August 12.
If you need a duplicate ballot, contact your local union as soon as possible, and definitely before August 1. Encourage everyone to get a ballot and vote. Organize a big No vote at your terminal.

GREAT LETTER TO HOFFA, HATS OFF TO DAVE
July 28th, 2008 at 11:02 pm
That’s just like the BA we have here saying that our meetings were positive and he was encouraged that we understood the changes. What this leadership doesn’t understand is that by negotiating this POS contract all the did was rile up the natives……..LET’S STICK TOGETHER AND MAKE SURE THIS THING DOESN’T GO THROUGH
July 29th, 2008 at 9:21 pm
great letter its about time we remind these people who they work for !!!!! VOTE NO I DID!!!!!!
July 30th, 2008 at 1:39 am

July 30th, 2008 at 4:07 pm
ALREADY SENT MY 2 NO VOTES IN!!!! MEETING AT LOCAL 25 WAS NOTHING LIKE WHAT WAS REPORTED ON THE TEAMSTER WEB SITE. DRIVERS ARE PISSED OFF OUT HERE.
July 30th, 2008 at 4:38 pm
The propaganda machine is a cranking boys. We have to get the real word out to the rank and file, not just the guys on the forums. We need to call our brothers and get the no votes cranking out as well. I am doing my fair share, and i know all of you are also. I thinks it great that we all can shkink the miles, and meet here in cyber space. Talk about gas conservation. “YA MAN”.
July 30th, 2008 at 4:48 pm
SHRINK THE MILES. OUCH!
July 30th, 2008 at 9:01 pm
Your not going to reach many here.
July 30th, 2008 at 11:46 pm
HOW MANY DO YOU THINK LEASEWAYOVER, IF I COME ON HERE, THEN TALK TO 8 PEOPLE AND THEY TALK TO 8 PEOPLE , YOU GOT 64, SAY THERE’S 150 HAS BEEN ON HERE, A LOT OF DRIVERS WON’T POST! , SO 150 X 64 =9600 , EVEN IF 50% IS OVERLAP THAT’S 4800 , ALLIED GOT THE PAYCUTS PASSED BY 134 VOTES , OR ABOUT 5% , SAY WE HAVE 6,000 TOTAL VOTE IF THIS SITE JUST GETS THE INFORMATION OUT AND SWINGS 5% OF THE VOTES THAT COULD BE THE DIFFERENCE!! THE MAIN THING IS TO GET THE WORD OUT THAT THIS IS A POS CONTRACT,,, THE UNION KNOWS IT, AND THE COMPANY KNOWS IT, THAT’S WHY THEY DID ALL THE SELLING AND BS ON IT, WHICH HAS STOPPED I GUESS,,, NOW IT’S UP TO US TO SHOW THEM!! AND VOTE NO!!!
July 31st, 2008 at 10:25 am
THATS YOU ARE NOT……YOUR IS A POSSESSIVE PRONOUN…….YOUR GRAMMAR IS TERRIBLELEASEWAYOVER IS NOTHING BUT A UNION BASHERTHE SKY IS FALLING……NOTHING YOU DO WILL WORK……THE FIX IS IN…….THE UNION SUCKS……AND SO ON AND SO ONAT LEAST WE ARE TRYING TO PUT UP A FIGHT…….BETTER TO TRY AND FAIL, THAN NOT TO TRY AT ALLYOUR UNION BASHING RANTS FALL ON FAR FEWER EARSLEAD,FOLLOW, OR GET THE FUCK OUT OF OUR WAYI KNOW YOU DON’T THINK SO WE ARE TRYING OUR BEST TO MAKE THIS INDUSTRY BETTER FOR ALL INCLUDING NON-UNION CARRIERSWON’T GIVE ANYONE ANY CREDIT FOR HAVING SOME BALLS AND TAKING A STAND….AT LEAST WE AREN’T LAYING DOWN AND PLAYING DEAD……THE BROTHERHOOD IS ALL WE HAVE……TAKE YOUR UNION BASHING SOMEWHERE ELSE ISN’T WORKING……NEGITIVITY IS NOT WELCOME HEREREAL CARHAULERS ARE TRYING TO EFFECT POSITIVE CHANGES THAT WILL FORCE OUR LEADERSHIP TO NEGOTIATE WITH OUR BEST INTEREST IN MINDWHEN I FIRST STARTED POSTING HERE THERE WERE 12 MEMBERS…..NOW LOOK AT THE LIST!!!! WE WILL GET THE MESSAGE OUTINFORMATION IS THE KEY TO ANY CAMPAIGNI DON’T UNDERSTAND NON-UNION DRIVERS THINKING THAT THEIR JOB SITUATION WILL BE BETTER IF THE UNIONISED CARRIERS LEAVE THE SCENE, OTHER THAN THE FACT THEY WILL GET ENJOYMENT SEE WORKING MEN AND WOMEN WITH A BETTER SITUATION OUT OF WORKTHE UNION TIDE RAISES ALL SHIPS
July 31st, 2008 at 11:29 am
Thanks for the lesson on grammar Carhauler. I forgot that we are all lawyers here. Perhaps you should have a little faith in your co workers that they can actually read the contract proposal and decide for themselves. You want to reach them to tell them” you” dont like the contract? I dont think they care what you think. They will read it and decide whats best for themselves and their families. And as far as union bashing I would have to say there is alot more non union bashing going on in here but thats not the point is it? Im not here to bash anyone. I have been on both sides and im just giving my opinion on an open forum as I see it. So please by all means continue to correct my grammar and spelling if you like and good luck reaching your 8 friends.
July 31st, 2008 at 3:09 pm
if we dont stick together the union will have us working for the same wages as freight haulers they seem to have forgot that this is a skilled labor and not every driver can do this job
August 1st, 2008 at 8:38 am
THAT’S STILL 8 MORE FRIENDS THAN YOU HAVE……EVERYONE HAS A RIGHT TO EARN A LIVING IN THIS COUNTRY……NON-UNION DRIVERS ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM IN THIS INDUSTRY AND DESERVE TO BE BASHED……SOME OF US POSTING ARE AT LEAST TRYING TO FORCE A CHANGE IN THIS INDUSTRY…..FOR THE BETTERMENT OF ALL
August 1st, 2008 at 12:17 pm
LEASEWAYOVER— ATLEAST I’VE GOT 8 FRIENDS, AND I DIDN’T SAY FRIENDS, I SAID PEOPLE, AT LEAST I’M POSITIVE ABOUT TURNING THIS THING DOWN, YOUR STATEMENT “WON’T REACH TO MANY HERE” IS A NEGATIVE.IF THIS THING PASSES WE WON’T BE WORKING FOR FREIGHT WAGES WE WILL BE WORKING FOR LESS THAN FREIGHT WAGES, FREIGHT DRIVERS ARE MAKING $1800 TO 2 GRAND A WEEK, ALL THEY HAVE TO DO IS SHOW UP THROW THERE SUITCASE IN THE TRUCK AND THERE MAKING MONEY, WITH OUR LOADING AND UNLOADING, DEALER CHECKIN, HAVING TO WAIT FOR THE NEXT AM TO DELIVER, IF IT PASSES WERE PROBABLY LOOKING AT 60 TO 70 GRAND A YEAR, COMPARED TO A FREIGHT DRIVERS 90 OR 100 GRAND!!!!!
August 1st, 2008 at 6:33 pm
HEY, TEXAS I THINK THAT SCAB WAS REFERING TO ME. THATS RIGHT I’M CALLING A SCAB A SCAB. SCABS CANNOT SEE THE FOREST THROUGH THE TREES. THEY THINK ONCE THE BROTHERHOOD IS OUT OF THE PICTURE THEIR JOBS WILL BE BETTER. WHAT THEY DON’T SEE IS ONCE THERE IS UNIONS HANGING OVER THE COMPANY THERE WILL BE NOOOO NEED TO TREAT THEM GOOD. I KNOW IT’S PARIDISE BY THE DASHBOARD LIGHT NOW……JUST WAIT. BEST THING THAT COULD HAPPEN TO THIS INDUSTRY IS WE GET A CONTRACT WE CAN LIVE WITH,THAT WAY EVERYONE MAKES OUT. NON-UNION DRIVERS SHOULD HOPE WE GET ALL WE CAN. IT WILL ONLY RAISE THEIR WORKING CONDITIONS. NOT ALL OF US ARE BLINDED BY WASHINGTON. THERE ARE PROBLEMS IN ALL ORGANISATIONS THE TEAMSTERS ARE NOOO DIFFRENT. WE MUST TAKE A STAND AND STAND TOGETHER TO MAKE THE TEAMSTERS WORK FOR US. WE ARE THE UNION,WE ARE ONLY AS STRONG AS OUR WEAKEST MEMBER. COMMUNICATION IS THE KEY,NO ONE IS ON AN ISLAND. CHAINSDRAGGING IS DOING US A GREAT SERVICE. I WOULD PERSONALY LIKE TO THANK HIM FOR HIS EFFORT. SOMEWHERE DOWN THE ROAD HOPEFULY WE MEET SO I CAN SHAKE HIS HAND………THANK YOU………….REAL TEAMSTERS DON’T QUIT………DON’T QUIT……THE FIGHT HAS JUST STARTED
August 2nd, 2008 at 12:01 am
Todays market will not allow you guys to get a good contract.
August 2nd, 2008 at 4:49 pm
SO leasewaypver are you saying we should take this crappy contract. let me know because I am sorry but every carhaul teamster should not have to work for bullshit wages and that is what this contract is but you are either a old guy that is fixing to retire and dont care about your fellow brothers and sisters or you believe what fred is telling you ethier way we can not give everything are brothers and sisters fought for in the past 30 years.WE AS TEAMSTERS CAN NOT GIVE BACK TO THE COMPANY BECAUSE WE WILL NOT GET IT BACK .WE NEED TO TAKE A STAND NOW because if we dont the next contract will be worse and you can take that to the bank leasewaypver. p.s. think about all of your brothers and sisters leasewaypver not just about your self
August 2nd, 2008 at 4:52 pm
great job dave
August 2nd, 2008 at 11:27 pm
I couldnt care less if you take the contract. You are the ones that have to live with your choices. Im just telling you with all the wasted money in Teamster companies theres nothing left over to give you. Putting aside how you waste money who do you think is going to absorb the rising cost of fuel and lack of sales because of it ? Not the owners and it wont be the customers. Its time to start thinking about how you can save your company some money and not what you can squeeze out of them. If your company cant make a profit you wont be around very long. IF you think you can do better hauling freight then go to it and leave your brothers behind who want to haul cars.

ONCE AGAIN YOU ARE SHORT SITED YOU ARE PUTTING THE ONUS OF KEEPING THE COMPANY IN BUSINESS ON THE WHOLLY ON THE EMPLOYEES. THE REAL KEY TO ANY GREAT BUSINESS/ORGANISATION IS GREAT MANAGEMENT. BELIEVE IT OR NOT SOME UNIONISED CARRIERS DO MAKE MONEY. ANYONE THAT HAS WORKED FOR A UNIONISED CARRIER THAT DOES NOT MAKE MONEY REALISES THE ENOURMOUS WASTE. WHICH GOES BACK TO TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT. AS YOU KNOW I WORKED AT PTS IN NEW ENGLAND, THE MONEY THE COMPANY PISSED THROUGH WAS MIND BOGGLING. THE COMPANY I SAY AGAIN THE COMPANY WOULD TRIP OVER A TWENTY DOLLAR BILL TO SAVE A DIME. HUNDREDS OF GALLONS OF HYDRAULIC FLUID RATHER THAN FIX A TWO DOLLAR FITTING. I COULD GO ON AND ON……..DRIVERS THAT CARED AND BELIEVE ME THERE WERE SOME(SOME OF US KNEW WE HAD A GOOD THING GOING) BROUGHT THINGS TO THE ATTENTION TO THE MANAGEMENT THEY JUST LOOK AT YOU WITH BLANK STARES. “WHAT DO YOU KNOW YOUR JUST AN IDIOT DRIVER”. I KNOW I’M AN IDIOT BUT I WAS AND AM SMARTER THAN THE MANAGEMENT IN BROOKFIELD. THEY KNEW THE PROBLEMS TIME AND TIME AGAIN TOOK NO ACTIONS TO CHANGE ANYTHING. THE MANAGENT WAS A BIG PART OF THE PROBLEM. THESE MONEY LOSING COMPANYS HAVE MANAGEMENT THAT HAS BEEN ENTRENCHED IN THEIR JOBS FOR 25-30 YEARS AND HAVEN’T BROUGHT ANYTHING TO THE TABLE FOR 20 OF THOSE YEARS. I AM GLAD I HELPED PUT PTS OUT OF BUSINESS!! YEARS OF FRUSTRATION WEARS ON YOU. I AVERAGED 65 HOURS A WEEK, 5 1/2 DAYS A WEEK, 9-10 LOADS A WEEK. I WAS THERE TO MAKE MONEY.THE COMPANY COULD NOT GET ANY MORE OUT OF ME. WE HAVE FINALLY HAD ENOUGH. NO MATTER HOW MUCH OF A PAY CUT WE TAKE WE CANNOT OVERCOME TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT. ITS JUST A DEATH SPIRAL TO THE BOTTOM. I JUST DON’T UNDERSTAND DRIVERS THAT THINK THAT THEY MAKE TO MUCH MONEY. WE HAVE A SPECIALISED TRADE. WHAT WE DO, ONLY 1 IN 300 DRIVERS CAN DO, ANYONE CAN STEER A TRUCK IN A STRAIGHT LINE, BUY VERY FEW DRIVERS WILL EVER BE A CARHAULER. I EXPECT TO BE PAID ACCORDINGLY………………IF YOU DON’T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT WHAT THERE IS NO REASON FOR YOU TO POST ON HERE…….TO TELL YOU ITS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS WHAT WE DO………..REALLY SHOULDN’T EFFECT YOU AT ALL………JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE WILLING TO WORK FOR SUBSTANDARD WAGES BENEFITS,WORKING CONDITIONS ECT.,ECT.,HAVE AT IT. YOU ARE ONE OF THOSE EMPLOYEES THAT THINK THE COMPANY AND ALL MANAGEMENT IS RIGHT AND WOULD NOT SAY SHIT IF YOU HAD A MOUTHFUL. I KNOW THE COMPANY IS ALWAYS RIGHT ALL THE TIME. FIRST AND BEST ANSWER IS FOR THE HARD WORKING MEN AND WOMEN TO TAKE A PAY CUT!!! THAT WILL SOLVE EVERYTHING. NOT!!! AFTER ALL WE ARE DEFINATELY WAY OVER PAID…….PISSES ME OFF THAT NON-UNIONISED DRIVERS WANT US TO BRING OUR WORKING CONDITIONS DOWN TO THEIR LEVEL. WHY SHOULD WE? MAYBE IT WILL MAKE THEM FEEL THAT THEIR CHOICE TO WORK AS A SCAB IS A GOOD ONE…… IF YOU SAY YOU OWN YOUR OWN TRUCK YOU ARE BEHOLDITH TO THE BROKERS, THEY CONTROL THE VAST MAJORITY OF THE FREIGHT……FRIEND OF MINE WAS THE NUMBER ONE DRIVER AT CASSENS TRANSPORT…….BOUGHT HIS OWN TRUCK….HAS NOW PUT IT UP FOR SALE…..COULDN’T MAKE ANY MONEY……PEOPLE OUT THERE ARE HAULING UNITS FOR NOTHING. THATS YOUR COMPETITION YOU CAN SAY YOU WILL ONLY WORK FOR YOUR PRICE. WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE IS NO WORK AT YOUR PRICE?? EVENTUALLY YOU WILL HAVE LOWER YOUR PRICE IN ORDER TO WORK. IN AMERICA THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEONE THAT WILL CONTINUE TO WORK FOR LESS THAN YOU. CAPITOLISM 101. THE ONLY WAY HE MADE MONEY IS WITH SNOWBIRDS, THATS ONLY TWICE A YEAR, FALL AND SPRING. NOT ENOUGHT REVENUE TO PAY ALL HIS EXPENSES AND TO AFFORD TO EAT AS WELL. NEVERMIND PAY FOR HEALTHCARE,PUT MONEY AWAY FOR RETIREMENT,TAKE A PAID VACATION,HAVE PAID HOLIDAYS, ALL THE BENITFITS THAT UNIONS HAVE BOUGHT TO THE TABLE. BENEFITS ARE WHAT A COMPANY PAYS TO ATTRACT QUALITY EMPLOYEES!!! HAPPENS ALL OVER THE WORLD UNION AND NON-UNION COMPANYS. MAYBE, YOU ARE THE EXCEPTION!! HONESTLY, GOOD LUCK TO YOU. YOU HAPPEN TO BE THE 1 IN A 100,000 THAT MAKES MONEY AND HAS A GOOD QUALITY OF LIFE. BELIEVE ME I DEFEND YOUR RIGHT TO MAKE A LIVING…..EVERYONE HAS TO EAT……DON’T TAKE JOY IN THE FACT THAT A UNIONISED CARRIER WENT OUT OF BUSINESS, OR THE FACT WE ARE TAKING A STAND TO MAKE OUR JOBS BETTER. WE UNDERSTAND THE CONSEQUENSES WE ARE WILLING TO STAND TOGETHER FOR WHAT WE WANT………STAND BACK YOU JUST MAY BE SUPRISED……BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR….YOU MAY HAVE 2 THOUSAND CARHAULERS OUT THERE BUYING THEIR OWN TRUCK…….YOUR COMPETITION!!! TO MY BROTHER AND SISTERS STAND STRONG….VOTING NO IS THE WAY TO GO!!!!
August 3rd, 2008 at 12:38 pm
WELL I AM FINEALLY BACK IN TOWN FROM A 2 WEEK TRIP FROM HELL!!! THATS RIGHT BOYS AND GIRLS I FOR 2 WEEKS WAS A SCAB, I FEEL SO DIRTY, BUT I AM BACK AND FEEL EVEN STRONGER THAN EVER ON PRESERVING OUR WAY OF LIFE. I FOR ONE NEVER WANT TO HAVE TO EXPERIANCE BEING TREATED AS A SCAB OR EVEN THOUGHT OF THAT WAY AGAIN. ITS BEEN ABOUT 8 1/2 YEARS SINCE I WAS WORKING FOR A SCAB HAULER AND I WILL SAY THE INDUSTRY HAS GOTTEN MUCH WORSE THAN IT EVER WAS. WE ALL REALLY NEED TO BAND TOGETHER AND SEND A STROGER MESSAGE TO HOFFA TO GET THAT ZUCKERMAN OUT AND MAKE THE INTERNATIONAL, ONCE THIS CONTRACT IS VOTED DOWN, NEGOTIATE A REAL CONTRACT. REMEMBER WE ARE ALL PROFESSIONALS AND MUST BE TREATED AS SUCH. THIS LETTER THAT WAS SENT TO HOFFA SHOULD DEMAND A RESPONCE FROM THE ADMINISTRATION THAT WE PAY THEIR WAGES. HOW CAN WE GET THE RESPECT WE DESERVE FROM OUR EMPLOYERS IF OUR OWN INTERNATION SHOW US NO RESPECT. MR HOFFA YOU NEED TO GET A SET AND SEND A PUBLIC RESPONSE TO THIS LETTER YOU OWE THAT TO THE RANK AND FILE!!!!!
August 3rd, 2008 at 10:50 pm
The future of Teamster car haul doesnt look good from where im sitting. Its been going down for a long time and if you think your stand against a bankrupt company is going to turn the industry around you are sadly mistaken. Nobody wants anything to do with Teamsters these days so growth is out of the question.
August 4th, 2008 at 1:46 pm
ALLIED SYSTEM HAS BEEN OUT OF BANKRUPTCY SINCE JUNE OF 2007
August 4th, 2008 at 5:56 pm
hey leaseover i like to meet you . i only need about five minutes of your time looking forward to your reply
August 7th, 2008 at 10:44 am
Why are you guys so against a contract that will keep you working?? This contract has been designed to allow our employers to compete with economic challenges such as fuel costs and non union competitors! Just look at the price of fuel at $4.50+ per gallon and a truck only averaging 6 miles per gallon (that’s .75cents per mile just to drive the truck down the road not including our pay and the insurance for the truck)! We all want to make a great wage and be home every other day but the times we are in won’t sustain our going somewhere and deadheading back!
I’m not saying we should just roll over and take it but we need to see past our next paycheck!
August 7th, 2008 at 12:16 pm
I dont recall stating that Allied was bankrupt.
Texasjumper….. request denied.
August 7th, 2008 at 7:29 pm
DIDN’T SAY YOU DID……..JUST STATING A FACT……..GLAD I TOOK A STAND AGAINST A BANKRUPT COMPANY…..HELPED PUT IT OUT OF ITS MISRY
August 7th, 2008 at 7:45 pm
HOW DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH MONEY THESE UNIONISED CARRIERS ARE MAKING. YOU ONLY HEAR WHAT THEY TELL YOU. IF YOU HEARD THEY WERE MAKING $6.00-6.50 PER MILE WOULD THAT CHANGE YOUR MIND? WILL YOU THEN WANT YOUR FAIR SHARE OF THE PIE? I’M SURE AS A GOOD EMPLOYEE YOU REALLY DON’T CARE HOW MUCH THE COMPANY MAKES AS LONG AS YOU GET YOURS. ITS TOO BAD THE ONLY INFORMATION YOU GET COMES FROM THE COMPANY. HAVE YOU EVER SEEN OUTSIDE VERIFACATION? I THINK NOT. I HAVE BEEN WORKING FOR 30 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER WORKED FOR A COMPANY THAT WILL TELL ME THAT THEY ARE MAKING MONEY. MAYBE THEY WERE AFRAID THE EMPLOYEES WOULD ASK FOR A RAISE? ALL YOU PEOPLE KNOW IS WHAT THE COMPANY TELLS YOU. THE COMPANY IS ALWAYS RIGHT. THE COMPANY SAYS SO, IT MUST BE TRUE!! YOU ARE OVER PAID AND YOU THINK SO, YOU DO NOT WANT TO ROCK THE BOAT BECAUSE YOU KNOW YOU WILL NEVER FIND A JOB THAT PAYS LIKE YOURS. LEAVE WELL ENOUGH ALONE. MY LEVEL OF SELF WORTH AND YOURS ARE COMPLETELY DIFFRENT. FOR WHAT I DO I’M WORTH AND THE JOB IS WORTH $35.00 PER HOUR. BUT, FOR DRIVERS LIKE YOU I CAN’T GET IT. YOU KNOW THE COMPANY SAYS THEY DON’T MAKE ANY MONEY.
August 7th, 2008 at 9:54 pm
carhauler25 I can tell you straight forward I’m pro union in every aspect of my life and I certainly expect a piece of the pie! When the company bids on work they are bidding a price per car in the past this was usually around $300 for less than 500 miles however now united road, unimark, das, gst and I’m certain a dozen others that I can’t think of at this moment are bidding this work for like $200 per car!! Our company’s can’t compete when the need to send a driver back toward his home terminal with a back haul or worse case deadhead. It sucks really bad but we need to do something now to preserve our work. If we don’t make changes today tomorrow we will be talking about how great a job car hauling used to be!!! Don’t let the lies of tdu determine how your gonna vote!!
August 7th, 2008 at 9:56 pm
You dont need the company to tell you how expensive deisel is. And you dont have to be a rocket scientist to understand the challenges in todays transportation market. Of course this does not mean that you cant go out and get the best deal that you can. Most importantly you should respect your co workers who may have opinions that differ from yours. Isnt that what brotherhood is all about?
August 7th, 2008 at 9:58 pm
But do we do a days work for Half the money?
Where so we draw the line?
Will you work for 90 Dollars a day to preserve the work?
August 8th, 2008 at 12:28 am
Not half but perhaps an Allied driver could tell you how he pays his bills with the 17% cut.
August 8th, 2008 at 8:07 am
well chainsdraging you work for allied so your already getting a paycut! I know Tampa is a shithole to work out of since all you really get to do is go to Fort Meyers and back but in our world “your world to really” only new business is gonna be a cut rate and five tours of duty means just that 5 days! I know on a local bored five days is along time but since we are all truck drivers we really know 5 days is a piece of cake! Your not gonna make $90 a day with this contract, this deal has ben set up so that the company can keep the truck loaded as many miles as possible. Thyer didn’t explain that to you guys?
For example I take a load from Detroit to Chicago they load me at Leaseways old Torrance yard down to Georgetown, Georgetown then sends me over to Louisville but I’m now I’m on my fifth day so Louisville is sending me towards my home terminal!
loaded from Detroit to Chicago, Chicago to Georgetown, Georgetown to Louisville, Louisville to Detroit! none of those are new business
August 8th, 2008 at 4:56 pm
For a few Terminals it would work out and for many of us it will just mean Not going home and making less money. Perhaps Gonzo can shed a little light on the subject.
August 9th, 2008 at 12:42 am
WHERE DO YOU GUYS COME FROM? EFFIDENTLY YOUR NOT WORKING CARHAULERS, (NED AND LEASEWAYOVER)WE ARE ALRADY TALKING ABOUT WHAT A GREAT JOB CARHAULING USE TO BE!!! WAKE UP , AS FAR AS WHAT NEW BUSINESS IS, EVERYTHING COULD BE NEW BUSINESS IN A MATTER OF A COUPLE OF YEARS , ALL THEY HAVE TO DO IS GIVE UP THE BUSINESS TO NON-UNION FOR 1 YEAR AND 1 DAY, THEN IT’S NEW BUSINESS , PLAIN AND SIMPLE, AS FAR AS 5 TOURS BEING 5 DAYS WHAT IF YOU WORK 3 DAYS ON A RUN AND THEN COME BACK IN, THEN THE NEXT DISPATCH THE 5 TOURS START OVER AGAIN ! WHAT ABOUT NO EQUALIZATION , THEY COULD CLOSE UP ANY BRICK AND STONE TERMINAL AND BACKHAUL ALL THE TRAFFIC, LAYOFF THE DRIVERS , THEN USE BACKHAULERS TO HAUL THE TRAFFIC, EVEN IF IT’S ONLY HALF OF THE TRAFFIC, JOBS WOULD BE LOST IN THAT AREA, YOU MIGHT HAVE TO MOVE JUST TO KEEP YOUR JOB!!
NED HOW TO YOU GET YOUR FIGURES OF $300 A CAR DOWN TO $200 A CAR YOUR TALKING ABOUT COMPANIES THAT ARE IN TEXAS SO I’M ASSUMING YOUR IN TEXAS , MOST OF THE VEHICLES ARE FIGURED ON A RATE PER CAR MILE, A CAR MIGHT BE IN THE VACINITY OF .50 CENTS A MILE, WHILE A LARGE SUV MIGHT BE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD OF .70 TO .80 PER MILE, THAT WOULD BE A CONTRACT RATE, AND YOUR WORRIED ABOUT FUEL I GUESS YOU HAVEN’T HEARD ABOUT FUEL SURCHARGE, PTS RECOVERED 51% OF THERE FUEL COST IN FUEL SURCHARGE IN THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2008, GO TO THE BANKRUPTZY FILINGS TO SEE THIS, AND IF THEY WANTED TO KEEP THE TRUCKS LOADED THE ARTICLE 22 FULL/RUNNING MILE AGREEMENT IN THE LAST CONTRACT SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE THAN ENOUGH FOR THE COMPANIES TO GAIN SOME BUSINESS, SAY ON A 500 MILE TRIP WITH 10 CARS ON RUNNING MILE , I’M MAKING ABOUT $350 TOTAL THE TRUCK IS PROBABLY GROSSING ABOUT $2500 TO $3000 , ON THAT LEG . THE BIGGEST PROBLEM A LOT OF THE COMPANIES ARE HAVING IS THEY HAVE TOOK OUT TO MUCH MONEY INSTEAD OF REINVESTING IN EQUIPMENT AND THERE REPAIR AND BREAKDOWN IS KILLING THEM, I’M SURE YOU’VE SEEN SOME OF THE REPAIR BILLS , OR THEY MIGHT DISPATCH YOU ON A LOAD AND YOU CAN’T HAUL YOUR LOAD BECAUSE YOUR TRUCK IS IN THE SHOP, THE TERMINAL I WORK OUT OF WHEN WERE BUSY WILL HAVE 2 TO 3 GUYS ON A DISPATCH WAITING FOR THERE TRUCKS SOME MAYBE INTO THE NEXT DAY, WHAT’S PRODUCTIVE ABOUT THAT!!! THE LATEST GIMICK IS TO CUT EVERYONE’S TRUCK DOWN TO SAVE FUEL SO INSTEAD OF MAKING YOUR DELIVERY YOUR DELAYED INTO THE NEXT DAY, HAVE TO TAKE A EXTRA BREAK, WIND UP COSTING MORE MONEY THAN HAVING TRUCKS THAT WILL PULL A LOAD DOWN THE ROAD, IF CUTTING TRUCKS DOWN TO 60 SAVED MONEY WHY DOESN’T EVERYONE DO IT.
AND YOUR SCENAIRO OF DETROIT TO CHICAGO, CHICGO TO GEORGETOWN, GEORGETOWN TO LOUISVILLE, AND LOUISVILLE TO DETROIT , IS ONLY 1078 MILES IN 5 DAYS, SAY ONLY 75% OF THAT IS LOADED THAT’S ONLY ABOUT 800 PAY MILES IN A WEEK ,WOW THAT’S BIG MONEY EVEN AT FULL RATE THAT’S ONLY $896 , YOUR GOING TO SPEND ABOUT $125 ON MEALS, ON RUNNING MILE THAT WILL BE ABOUT $450 - $125 $325 A WEEK, YOU COULD MAKE MORE THAN THAT ON UNEMPLOYMENT , I’M JUST WONDERING IF YOUR BACKING UP ALL THEM MILES AND THAT’S WHY IT TAKE YOU 5 DAYS , AND YOU NEED TO ADD NEW PICK UP POINTS LIKE AUCTIONS , AT 1/2 RATE , THEY COULD STARVE OUT A TERMINAL WITH NO EQUIALIZATION UNTIL THEY AGREED TO TAKE IT AT RUNNING MILE, THEN YOU WOULD HAVE 1 OPPORTUNITY TO JOIN IN THERE AGREEMENT, OR YOU WOULD BE OUT OF THE LOOP!!! THEN OUT OF A JOB!!
IT’S AMAZING THAT ANYTIME YOU DISAGREE WITH THE UNION YOUR AUTOMATICALLY TDU,WE ARE ALL SUPPOSE TO BE SHEEP AND FOLLOW LIKE OUR BA’S DID, WE SHOULDN’T FORM OUR OWN OPINION’S, AT THIS POINT OF TIME IT’S ALMOST LIKE THE UNION IS THE COMPANIES UNION WHICH IS NOT THE WAY IT’S SUPPOSE TO BE!!!!! IF THIS THING IS SUCH A GREAT DEAL WHY DON’T THE BA’S THAT VOTED FOR IT TAKE A 35% PAY CUT, ALONG WITH SUCKERMEN, OUR BA’S SALARY SHOULD BE BASED ON OUR SALARY, IF THE TEAMSTERS SPENT JUST 10% OF THE TIME THAT THEY HAVE SPENT TRYING TO GET THIS POS CONTRACT VOTED IN TRYING TO ORGANANIZE THESE NON-UNION COMPANIES THEY MIGHT ACTUALLY BE DOING SOME GOOD, BUT IN ORDER TO GET THESE NON-UNION DRIVERS INTERESTED IN UNION CARHAUL YOU HAVE TO BE OFFERING A BETTER DEAL THAN WHAT THEY GOT, COULD YOU IMAGINE WALKING UP TO A GULF STATES DRIVER AND START OUT BY SAYING YOU CAN MAKE .56 CENTS A MILE IN A 60 MPH TRUCK!! IF THIS CONTRACT PASSES IT WILL BE THE END OF UNION CARHAUL, EVERYONE’S ALREADY VOTED BY NOW, SO NOW IT WAIT AND SEE, AND FROM WHAT I’M HEARING THERE IS GOING TO BE OBSERVERS FROM KANSAS CITY,ST.LOUIS, DALLAS, AND NASHVILLE .
August 9th, 2008 at 9:00 am
Well Said Texascarhauler
As far as Agreeing with the union I would say that
WE are the Union, The Membership make up the Union, The Brotherhood is The Union
Hoffa is just some Chump that WE have elected to do what we need get done.
One of the reasons I came up with this website is that there was no way for us to communicate what was going on or what we needed. The Teamster site has no way for us to voice our opinions. Really they don’t want it viewed because it is just another Political party. Sorry I know that may not be a popular thing to say but that is what I think.
August 9th, 2008 at 12:12 pm
Gentlemen, from what I see there is a fine line between the Company and the International. I have to say we have a good BA. But when we stayed on the picket line our local was put on an island. Allied Systems owes us four jobs from the ruleing of the standing commitee. He can’t get Allied to hire us. Went again to Detroit with no ruleing again on the jobs. This mess comes from Washington not necessarily from the local level. I blame the national negotators for this POS. I don’t believe anything is going to happen until the vote is taken. I’m of the opinion leave the contract alone for the next two years without a pay raise. Also, there needs to be a snap back clause for Allied Systems in writing!!! Then we stand together as one!! Make no mistake about it this agreement is all about Mr. Burkle getting his money back. Google Clinton/Burkle/Hoffa see what you get. Texas is right I was good friends with my BA in Michigan, Local 299(YES! I HAVE WORKED ALL OVER THIS COUNTRY IN CARHAUL). He was on the National commitee the Article the companys wanted changed was twenty-two. Fought tooth and nail over it. Five years they never used it with any sucess or at all. They have had the right to move the bottom 10% of any board anytime they wanted. FIVE years never utilized. it Read the new contract, no where does five tours say that means five days. There is no definition of five tours anywhere. I’ll bet five tours mean five dispatches. Five 500-600 miles trips will certainly take longer than five days!!
Chains the biggest thing the Company and the Brotherhood fears is a member/driver that can think. They thrive on lack of information and the fact most people won’t think for themselves. I see the company for what it is(run us into the ground until we cant give anymore),the International(we are a cash cow to the brotherhood–keep us working at any cost to keep the H&W/PENISION going),TDU(sorta a watchdog organisation—long on problems—short on solutions). I make my decisions on what is best for me. I follow no one!! Votes in!!!! Interesting to see how much the contract will be voted down by!!
August 9th, 2008 at 12:32 pm
When you say that your co workers cant think for themselves I believe you mean that they are not inline with your onesided thinking. You should give them more credit and more importantly respect. If this contract is voted in your acceptance will be acknowledged by the fact that you continue to work under the new contract. If you dont like it you should move on and make room for good hard working people who would like your jobs.
August 9th, 2008 at 4:14 pm
leasewayover my coworkers can think for themseves and you can believe whatever you want, most of them feel like they have been screwedover by the international , and the local , for even bringing this thing to our doorstep, the two man comittee is suppose to be a stopgap between the international and the members , if the ba’s had enough balls they could have turned this thing down at the two man comitte , and we could have another proposal in the making already. your way of thinking is the same way of corporations that move work overseas, they go into a manufacturing facility where people are making decent money, maybe only $10.00 a hour in some cases, then they propose that they get a $2.00 cut or they will move the plant overseas, or mexico , they refuse the cut then there without a job, but a job with a cut is like having no job at all, this proposal is a cut, and there may be good hard working people that would like to have my job, the only problem with that is most of them can’t do my job.and like i’ve said before your probably not even a carhauler, your probably in management, the management probably needs to worry about this thing passing , because if it does they will be out of a job in short order also, without good drivers none of the companies can survive. from what i’m hearing they are already planning on this thing getting turned down, (results of the survey) as far as allied/burkle/yucaipa it’s kinda strange that burkle’s next door’s neighbor’s brother bought united road, two of the biggest carhaulers in the country are owned by investment firms in beverly hills , i guess there in it to lose money? not a chance these people make money!!!!! and if you did work for leaseway,or e&l , or hadley, this is the parent company that owned them http://www.onex.com/ before they spun them off, doesn’t look like there hurting either, they bought all three put them together, cashed out the assets they wanted, then spun them off to fail. they never had a chance , all we are in any of these companies is little ants that do the work. and i can’t believe you didn’t take up texasjumper’s offer , another texas driver that thinks for himself!!!!!

The days of making double the average trucker are over and if you havent noticed there is a major adjustment going on in the whole industry and anyone who can drive a truck can be trained to do your job. How do you think you started?
I presumed that the offer made to me by texasjumpy was in lu of having nothing else to add to the discussion.
August 9th, 2008 at 11:11 pm
LIKE I SAID EARLIER YOUR NOT A DRIVER , PROBABLY IN MANAGEMENT, THE DAYS OF MAKING DOUBLE THE AVERAGE TRUCKER WERE OVER YEARS AGO, BUT THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER IS WE DO TWICE THE WORK OF A AVERAGE TRUCK DRIVER, AND ANYONE WHO CAN DRIVE A TRUCK CAN’T BE TRAINED TO DO MY JOB, THEY MIGHT HAVE A 50% SUCESS RATE AFTER ONE YEAR, THEN THAT DROPS TO ABOUT 30% BECAUSE NO ONE WANTS TO PUT UP WORKING IN THE 100 DEGREE DAYS, THE 10 DEGREE DAYS, RAIN, SLEET AND SNOW, THEN YOU HAVE THE CRAPPY 60MPH TRUCKS, BY THE TIME A DRIVER IS ACTUALLY PRODUCTIVE THEY HAVE COST THE COMPANY PROBABLY 10 TO 15 GRAND IN DAMAGES, THEN THEY GET TIRED OF THE LAYOFFS AND SHITTY WORKING CONDITIONS AND QUIT, WE’VE HAD 5 PEOPLE QUIT THE PAST COULPLE OF YEARS AND BOUGHT THERE OWN TRUCKS , BECAUSE THE MONEY ISN’T HERE ANYMORE UNLESS YOU GOT 20 OR 25 YEARS, THIS CONTRACT WILL TAKE ALL THE MONEY OFF THE TABLE!!!! I STARTED WITH ABOUT 15 GUYS, AND THERE IS 2 LEFT, WHAT KIND OF PERCENTAGE IS THAT?? AS FAR A MAJOR ADJUSTMENT IN THE WHOLE INDUSTRY THERE IS AND IT IS BAD, THE AUTOMAKERS ARE GETTING TIRED OF THE COMPANIES HAULING THERE VEHICLES NOT BEING ABLE TO MANAGE THERE BUSINESS IN A EFFICENT MANNER AND STAY AFLOAT, TURNING TO BANKRUPTZY TO GET LOWER WAGES, SO NOW THEY HAVE NERVOUS FEET ABOUT HAVING ONE COMANY HAUL FROM A PLANT LOCATION SO THEY ARE GOING TO SPLIT IT UP BETWEEN UNION AND NON-UNION , THE UNION COMPANIES HAVE GUARANTEED THE NON-UNION COMPANIES BUSINESS BECAUSE THEY COULDN’T TAKE CARE OF THERE BUSINESS IN THE FIRST PLACE. WHEN THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN OUT POUNDING THE GROUND BUYING EQUIPMENT AND GAINING BUSINESS UNDER THE LAST CONTRACT 2 YEAR WAGE FREEZE AND ARTICLE 22 FULL/HALF , THEY WERE TO BUSY CRYING ABOUT NOT MAKING ANY MONEY AND FILING BANKRUPZY. AND I WILL ALWAYS HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY, SO BRING IT ON, THIS IS A JOB THAT I HAVE ENJOYED A LONG TIME AND I HATE TO SEE IT GO INTO THE SHITTER, AND THAT’S EXACTLY WHERE IT’S HEADED……….THE BRIGHT SIDE IS I CAN ALWAYS GO AND GET THAT AVERAGE TRUCKER JOB THAT PAYS THE SAME NOW, AND THE UNION COMPANY MANAGEMENT PEOPLE WON’T HAVE ANYWHERE TO GO.
August 9th, 2008 at 11:34 pm
Theres always jobs for management not to say that I am management as you have suggested. You would be naive to think that the drivers have nothing to do with the state of union carhaul today. The question is what would it take for you to go get that average Joe trucker job. Maybe if this contract passess we will see where you draw your line. Will be interesting to see how this all unfolds.

MANAGEMENTS ARE USING THE SAME TIRED 30 YEAR OLD PRACTICES IN THE CARHAUL INDUSTRY. YET THEY WANT THE HARD WORKING MEN AND WOMEN TO TAKE PAY CUTS TO CONTINUE THEIR FAILED MANAGEMENT. YOU SEEM TO NEVER ADMIT WHAT THE FACT OF POOR MANAGEMENT PLAYS IN ALL THIS. ITS NOT ALWAYS THE DRIVERS FAULT THAT A COMPANY GOES OUT OF BUSINESS. UNIONISED AND NON-UNIONISED COMPANY GO OUT OF BUSINESS. CAPITOLISM AT ITS BEST!! I’VE BEEN AROUND THIS INDUSTRY 25 YEARS, THE ONLY COMPANY I’VE SEEN THAT HAS ANY IDEA HOW TO HAUL CARS IS CASSENS TRANSPORT. SEEN LEASEWAY,PTS, AND I AM ALREADY HEARING THE HORROR STORIES FROM THE DRIVERS THAT WENT TO ALLIED SYSTEMS HOW BAD THEIR MANAGEMENT IS. HOW MUCH OF A PAY CUT SHOULD THE DRIVERS TAKE TO KEEP A PISS POOR MANAGED COMPANY IN BUSINESS? TEN,FIFTEEN, SEVENTEEN AND A HALF,TWENTY, WHEN WILL IT STOP. THE INDUSTRY WAS OVER CAPACITATED, ITS TOO BAD IN MY OPINION THE WRONG COMPANY WENT OUT OF BUSINESS. THE SURVIVING COMPANYS NOW HAVE PRICING POWER. IF YOU WANT YOUR FREIGHT MOVED THE MANUFACTURERS WILL NOW HAVE TO PAY. WHEATHER ITS BY UNIONISED OR NON-UNIONISED CARRIERS. THE TRUTH IS ONLY ONE IN THREE HUNDRED DRIVERS IS CAPABLE OF BEING A CARHAULER. THE CRAP OUT RATE IS FIFTY PERCENT DURING THE TRAINING PERIOD. FIFTEEN PERCENT MORE DURING THE FIRST SIX MONTHS ON THE JOB AND EIGHTY PERCENT DURING THE FIRST YEAR. THE DRIVERS THAT LAST PAST ONE YEAR TEND TO STAY ON THE JOB. THESE DRIVERS ARE A SELECT FEW. WE HAVE A TRADE THATS IN DEMAND AND WE SHOULD BE COMPENSATED FOR IT. A QUALIFIED,EXPERENCED, CARHAULER IS WORTH HIS WEIGHT IN GOLD. THE COMPANYS WANT YOU TO BELIEVE THAT ANY ONE CAN DO OUR JOBS WHEN THE FACTS SHOW THE AVERAGE DRIVER CANT AND WONT DO OUR JOBS. I TELL PEOPLE I AM A CARHAULER, PEOPLE SAY, “OH,YOU DRIVE A TRUCK.” I ALWAYS CORRECT THEM AND SAY IM A CARHAULER, ANY MONKEY CAN DRIVE A TRUCK STRAIGHT DOWN THE HIGHWAY. ONLY ONE IN 300 DRIVERS ON THE ROAD CAN AND WILL DO MY JOB.
FOR SOMEONE THAT DOESNT HAVE A DOG IN THIS FIGHT YOU ARE SURELY CONCERNED ABOUT THE CONTRACT VOTE. YOUR OPINIONS ARE ALWAYS ON THE MANAGEMENT SIDE AND DRIVERS ARE STUPID FOR STANDING UP TO THE ALMIGHTY COMPANY. IF YOU DONT CARE WHAT HAPPENS, MIND YOUR OWN FUCKING BUSINESS. YES, DRIVERS CAN THINK THE COMPANY IS RIGHT BY THE NUMBER OF YES VOTES FOR THE CONTRACT. GOOD LUCK TO THEM. I DONT AGREE WITH THEM BUT I WILL FIGHT TO THE END FOR MY AND THEIR RIGHT TO EXPRESS THEIR OWN OPINION BY VOTEING. TELL ME ONE SCAB COMPANY THAT ALLOWS THEIR EMPLOYEES TO VOTE ON ANYTHING. ITS TOO BAD PIECES OF SHIT LIKE YOU CAN POST ON THIS FORUM WHEN YOU HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH VOTEING ON OUR LABOR CONTRACT. YES! YOU ARE A PIECE OF SHIT ALWAYS RUNNING YOUR MOUTH ABOUT HOW UNIONISED DRIVERS ARE OVERPAID AND UNDERWORKED,THE COMPANY IS ALWAYS RIGHT,THE TEAMSTERS UNION SUCKS ECT…..ECT…… FUCK YOU!! SAYING THAT, THIS IS AMERICA…..AND I WOULDNT TRY TO CENSOR YOU OPINIONS…….I WILL REFUTE EVERY POST YOU MAKE WITH THE FACTS…..I SHOULD BE AT THE BEACH BY NOW…..BUT, I JUST CANT LET YOUR ANTI-UNION, ANTI-WORKER POST GO UNANSWERED..HAVE A NICE DAY!!
August 10th, 2008 at 11:11 am
Yes thanks for not censoring my opinion. I think one of the biggest problems is that you guys think you cant be replaced. You go on like as if you have gone to school for ten years to be able to haul cars when in fact it only takes a couple of weeks to get a green guy out on the road. You are a truck driver who happens to have cars as freight end of story. There are alot of jobs out there that require some sort of training so dont think that carhauling is all that special from the rest.
As you put it any monkey can do it with some training. A company can hire 10 guys in the hope of retaining 4 they dont care. If 2 quit they can hire 4 more as long as the market attracts the drivers which at the moment it does. ( believe it or n ot)

Leasewayover can You do me a favor and Register otherwise your posts keep going in moderation
August 10th, 2008 at 11:44 am
Well in our yard we keep maybe 1 out of 10 and maybe he will last more than 6 mo.
You have to know what you are doing just to get the package off so maybe the new guy will work 10 hours for 100 bucks to go to Sarasota.
10 Dollars an Hour? hardly worth it. Then insult him with a reprimand for not seeing a 12-1 scratch in the rain. Then find some new Business Rate to throw in there.
Yeah It’s a great job
August 10th, 2008 at 12:46 pm

Carhauler 25 are you upset? You are a truckdriver and will always have employment so dont be so bitter when hearing the truth about your situation.
August 11th, 2008 at 10:25 am
Thanks Chainsdragging. Now I feel like I belong.
August 11th, 2008 at 7:22 pm
DOPE, I’M A CARHAULER
August 12th, 2008 at 12:54 am
LEASEWAYOVER YOUR ABOUT AS SMART AS A ROCK, AND THAT’S YOUR FULL POTENTIAL , I’M BEGINNING TO THINK YOUR NOT EVEN IN MANAGEMENT AT A CARHAUL COMPANY, MAYBE AT MC DONALDS, LESS THAN 24 HOURS THIS POS CONTRACT PROPOSAL WILL BE VOTED DOWN, THEN YOU CAN GO BACK UNDER YOUR ROCK UNTIL THE NEXT VOTE COMES AROUND, AS WE TRY TO SQUEEZE MORE MONEY AND BETTER WORKING CONDITIONS OUT OF THESE MEGA RICH CARHAUL COMPANY OWNERS, VERIZON JUST GOT 10 OR 11% OVER THE NEXT 3 YEARS THAT SOUNDS FAIR, I’M ALSO FOR A 4 DAY WORK WEEK, MAYBE THEY CAN LET SOME OF THE MANAGEMENT DEAD WEIGHT GO SO THEY CAN PAY US MORE, I WOULD ALSO LIKE A COUPLE MORE HOLIDAYS, AND 95% OF MY PAY WHEN I’M LAID OFF, A HOUR TO FUEL MY TRUCK AND LOADCHECKS EVERYDAY WOULD BE NICE ALSO. JUST SOME IDEA’S TO THINK ABOUT!!!! WERE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER, THE MORE THE PAY ME THE LESS THEY CAN PAY YOU !!!!!!!!BECAUSE WE ACTUALLY DO THE WORK THAT PRODUCE THE REVENUE DONT THINK THERE GOING TO DO AWAY WITH US !!!!!!!!!!! THEY CAN CONSOLIDATE ALL THE SUPORT PERSONAL IN ONE CENTRAL AREA, WON’T EVEN NEED MANAGEMENT AT TERMINALS , JUST A PRINTER, HOW MUCH MONEY WILL THAT SAVE THEM????IT’S COMING, MAYBE NOT THIS CONTRACT, BUT THE FUTURE OF CARHAUL WILL BE ALL AUTOMATED, DISPATCH OVER A PHONE, TRIPS GIVEN BY PRINTER, NO MANAGEMENT AT TERMINALS, NO REPRIMANDS,WHEN YOU DREAM YOU NEEED TO DREAM BIG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
August 12th, 2008 at 2:33 am
Who said I was management? Nothing wrong with dreaming . Just as long as you eventually wake up and realise that this is a very compentitive buisiness with tight profit margins. Doesnt matter if your company is making all the money in the world they still have to compete with the other companies.
Even if you do vote this offer down its going to come back to you with very little change.
August 12th, 2008 at 10:37 am
ONCE WE VOTE THIS CONTRACT DOWN THEN WE GO ON STRIKE!!! IF YOU WERE A VOTEING MEMBER YOU WOULD KNOW THIS. WE HAVE ALREADY VOTED TO AUTHORIZE A STRIKE. LET THE FUN BEGIN. MAYBE HE IS PART OF THE COMMITTEE THAT NEGOTATED THAT P.O.S.
August 12th, 2008 at 11:11 am
August 12th, 2008 at 12:06 pm
I GOT MY BETS ON HE IS A LOW LEVEL COMPANY SUCK ASS, EVEN THOUGH THEY HAD IT ON THERE WE WERE APPROVING A STRIKE WITH OUR NO VOTE, (THAT WAS JUST A WAY TO GET SOME YES VOTE’S) THEY WILL HAVE TO ASK THE COMPANIES IF IT’S OK TO STRIKE, SO WE WON’T BE GOING ON STRIKE, PROBABLY A 2 OR 3 YEAR FREEZE.
August 13th, 2008 at 11:05 am
HOORAYY !!! CARHAULERS ROCK! TEAM WORK REALLY PAYS OFF WHEN WE ALL STICK TOGETHER, NOW LETS HOPE HOFFA GETS ZUCKERMAN OUT OF THE WAY AND DOES THE REAL NEGOTIATING. DO WHAT HIS DAD WOULD HAVE DONE, FOUGHT FOR US NOT THE DAMN COMPANY
August 13th, 2008 at 8:06 pm
LETS HOPE THEY BOTH GET OUT OF THE WAY. LET A REAL CARHAULER IN THERE TO NEGOTATE. THE BATTLE HAS JUST BEGUN!!
