Local 604 members denied ballots!

One of the biggest locals in our industry has about 40 members that have not yet received ballots in the mail. The members have contacted there local and are trying to get replacements. The IBT is giving them the run around, and this is concerning. What game is the IBT playing with our members? I will have more information on this matter later today. This seems fishy in my book, and can you imagine how many other members, have the same problem? How do we get a fair vote?

Take the time to look at the IBT website.  Yesterday they posted a notice that the voting has been extended for another week because there were eligible members that did not get ballots. It is the Local Unions responsibility to submit the names of eligible members to the International.  Don’t point fingers until all the facts come out.  Perhaps Thyer didn’t submit the information properly.  By the way, I heard he is going back on the truck.  The local can’t afford to pay him and they are looking at losing the Cassens operation when Fenton closes.  Not every member in the local thinks he walks on water. Some of us don’t have rose colored glasses on and can see through him.

FYI, He did submit the papers correctly and the issue is the lack of response from the IBT. As far as going back in a truck and walking on water: He knows car hauling for a fact, and is more knowledgeable than Suckerman, and would not of sold us out. I’m not from the 604 and your lucky to have him! He seems to be the only one out of all the sell outs, that actually stands up and speaks his mind on our behalf. Anyone who is for us, is OK in my book! OK Cooper are you for the contract? Just doing a survey!

carslinger911…let me say this.  I like Thyer as a person, not as a union representative.  There has been so much crap that he caused over the years that could fill a book.  How about the illegal strike against Allied that cost our local union, lost us money, and eventually the business to Cooper.  Thank god we had the contract to follow the work. He loves discord and being someone that incites others. Actually John was a hell of a carhauler when he was working.  And believe me, he did as John wanted, not necessarily what the contract says.  Am I for or against the contract, I voted for ratification.  I got my ballot.  I fear that turning down the contract will not do anything to protect us or our jobs.  I was glad to see a short term contract and from asking was told that we had to have a 3 year contract instead of a 2 year contract to protect our pensions. I am hopeful that in 3 years the automotive industry will have rebounded and we will see 17 or 18 million car sales instead of 13-14.  When that happens we can bargain harder with more power.  Turning down now will give the manufacturers a message that they need a complete alternative to union carhaul and that they have a short time to do it.  Regardless of what the scabs that post on here say, union carhaulers are the best for the most part.  Best in quality and service.  But lets face facts, we are more expensive in the long run.  We have to deliver damage free, within service limits, and without accidents and injuries if we expect to stay in business.  I work hard for what I earn but i am realistic and as Kenny Rodgers says, I know when to hold em and when to fold em.  I’ll wait to bagain from a strong position in a few years. where is your terminal, 911?

DO YOU REALLY THINK THAT IN 3 YEARS  THAT WE WOULD RECOUP ANYTHING THAT IS LOST IN THIS CONTRACT, WHERE YOUR AT IN WENTZVILLE YOU COULD BE HAULING RUNNING MILE FREIGHT ALMOST IMMEDIATELY, THE VANS GOING TO TEXAS COULD COME OFF THE RAIL, THEY COULD PULL OFF THE CHICAGO FREIGHT, OR THE ATLANTA FREIGHT, THEN GET NEW BUSINESS TO GET YOU BACK HOME , ALL RUNNING MILE , THAT IS WHAT THIS IS, A RUNNING MILE CONTRACT, WITH NO EQUALIZATION, MEANS NO MONEY, AS FAR AS GETTING THE NUMBERS UP, THERE COULD BE 40 MILLION CARS MADE AND AS LONG AS THE COMPANIES DON’T GO AFTER THE BUSINESS IT DOES NO GOOD, THE LAST CONTRACT THEY GOT A ARTILE 22  FULL/RUNNING MILE THAT THEY MADE ALMOST NO USE OF, PLUS A 2 YEAR  FREEZE, ,,YOU HAD A AGREEMENT WITH TEXAS , FULL/HALF/RUNNING MILE,BEFORE THE LAST CONTRACT,  AND THEY PUT IT BACK ON THE RAIL BECAUSE MORE PROFITABLE BUSINESS CAME ALONG TO USE THERE TRUCKS ON.  VOTING THIS CONTRACT IN WILL DO NOTHING BUT DESTROY DECENT JOBS, WHEN I FIRST STARTED IN CARHAUL I COULD MAKE IN 3 DAYS WHAT I WAS MAKING IN A REGULAR TRUCKING JOB,  NOW WE WORK 6 DAYS TO MAKE WHAT A REGULAR TRUCKING JOB PAYS, NOW THEY WANT US TO VOTE IN A CONTRACT THAT WILL PUT IS BELOW A NORMAL TRUCKING JOB……………….PLUS HAVE THE LAYOFFS 2 TO 3 TIMES A YEAR, WHAT A JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!AND A LOT OF THE SCABS THAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT USE TO BE UNION CARHAULERS, THERE IS ABOUT 10% OF OUR DRIVERS OVER THE PAST 2 YEARS THAT HAVE EITHER WENT TO WORK FOR NON-UNION , OR HAVE BOUGHT THERE OWN TRUCKS, AND FOR THE MOST PART ARE MAKING MORE MONEY THAN IF THEY WOULD HAVE STAYED HERE.

I dont understand why you thing voting this in will protect our jobs. That is a joke. If people vote this in .your wages will be cut by 25 pecent and they can layoff at will.Plus this two tier wage.If you are high seriorty and have all that vacaction. I think you should worry because the more they can fire the more two tier wage drivers they can hire and bye the way as far as the the greviences that were heard in the last 2 years the carhaulers only won about 12.5 percent of them .the company won 87.5 percent so you go ahead and vote this contract in and see if daddy fred will help you because so far he only cares about fred 230.000 dollars year .
