Dear Ford Focus buyer, I have to disagree. Every one of us knew what we were doing right from the start. In papers that the Teamsters filed in court the day of the 15% paycut we stated we were, "Striking to put the company permanently out of business." This company was rotten from the inside out and we weren't gonna have another Enron type of closing here. If we were going down, and for most us employees we could see the writing on the wall, THEY WERE COMING WITH US!!! In the last few months they did everything they could to keep away anyone from getting a look at what they were doing. In court the day that they got the 15%, the second-lein holders were trying to get the court to appoint an examiner and PTS was FIGHTING IT!!!
The ONLY purpose for the 15% paycut was to line their pockets with a little more cash before they finally closed the doors. If Jeff Cornish was talking he was probably lying!

Well Hommer50 just hearing that makes me proud to be a brother Teamster, You guys did the right thing and we all hope that by your actions it will maintain the integrity of this entire industry. You guys need to stand tall and we will all be praying that Allied, Cassens and Cooper will look at this as an eye opening event and get there corporate heads out of there asses and start to run these companies properly and we will all have better jobs and security for our families. I sure hope that these other union carriers see what a group of STAND UP TEAMSTERS you are and give you all jobs to cover the freight. THANK YOU PTS CAR HAULERS!!!!!!!

Today at Leaseway in Lewiston NY we made our last stand. We got word that Allied was sending in drivers to pick up the GM freight from our terminal (we are a border mixing yard). We're both in the same local. The union showed up and told us to pack it up, the strike was over and PTS was effectively out of business. But, we refused to stop until we got official word that the company was actually through. The management inside was still saying that they had heard nothing.
The Allied drivers honored the picket line and at that point we were picketing on our own time (wildcatting if you will). The union was on the phone, Allied management was on the phone, the police were there. Still no one entered the terminal.
About 2 1/2 hours later our BA came back from talking with the Allied guys and told us they weren't going to even attempt to cross. Shortly after they fired up the haulers and pulled out, heading back to their terminal. We applauded our union brothers as they drove off honking their air horns and giving the power salute back to us.
It was truly a great show of Teamster unity and brotherhood. I had tears in my eyes.
Later on we pulled up stakes as we got official word that PTS was defunct and went home. But our last day did not die with a wimper, we went out strong!
